Its been a busy fall for the Spectrum Baton Club!

Its Spectrum North’s 20th anniversary, and the club kicked off the season with an anniversary promotion that resulted in 10 new twirlers.  These little sweeties are being coached by Jordan Meron who has returned to Aurora following graduation from Western University.   The club is delighted to have Jordan back (if only for a short time, as she is leaving for New Zealand in January)

The club started their 20th anniversary season as usual,  with their annual Canadian Baton Twirling Federation badge test, and once again, Spectrum athletes earned top marks!

With the skill testing completed, the club began its work of developing both team and individual routines for the 2013 Baton competitive circuit that starts in March 2013.

The club has also taken some time out for fun!  This year, the girls were happy to be part of three Santa Claus Parades:  Newmarket, Bradford, and Aurora.  The girls looked fantastic going down the streets with their high energy and smiles.   The Bradford and Aurora parades were particularly special as the girls were featured with their glow stick batons.  Too bad it was all glow, no heat, as these were cccccold events!!

The day following the Aurora parade, the girls participated in another special event as feature performers  at the Grey Cup Pep Rally at Varsity Stadium in Toronto.  The girls were really excited to be part of the 100th anniversary celebrations, and have a chance to showcase baton twirling.

2 days after that, the club participated in a Boston Pizza Celebrity Server night.  All of the competitive athletes took part as servers, hostesses,  and the young’uns welcomed everyone as they came through the door.   It was a fun and profitable night (and the girls all came away with a new appreciation of how hard restaurant serving staff work!)

The club will wrap up its fall term on December 20th, with its annual Christmas Show and Party, at Lester B Pearson School.   The girls provide a sampling of the routines they have been working on, followed by a party and even a visit from Santa.   Free admission for anyone who would like to attend.  Find out more at:   eteamz.com/spectrumnorthbaton

Everyone at Spectrum North would like to wish our friends in the baton community a very Merry Christmas, and a happy and healthy 2013, and we look forward to seeing everyone in the spring!
